Debe tener un esmerado aseo tanto en la habitación como en la bateria de cocina y la vajilla. Primeramente se lava el cristal con zacate, jabón y agua fria, en seguida la porcelana de la manera siguiente; un un trasto grande se pone agua hirviendo, jabón y una pequeña cantidad de sosa y con un cepillo de mango largo se frota para quitarle la grasa, en seguida se enjuaga muy bien en otro trasto con agua *tivia secándola después con un lienzo de hilo. Los trastos de cocina o sea la bateria, se lava, tallando los de fierro con piedra pómez o polvo de ladrillo, los de cobre con limón y sal, los de peltre con ceniza tamizada, los de aluminio con jabón holandeso **zapolio, despues de haberlos secado se tatlan con una bandana y blanco de España para devolverles el brillo; los cuchillos se tallan con polvo de ladrillo o ceniza tamuzada, el brasero se lavará diariamente con jabón agua caliente y zacate, teniendo cuidado especial con el recipiente de la basura, lo mismo que con el drenage poniendoles de vez en cuando una solución desinfectante. Cada 8 dias se hará limpieza general, limpiando el techo y las paredes y sacudiendo los estantes y armarios.
